About Me
I am Gian Maria Marconi, a postdoctoral researcher at the Approximate Bayesian Inference team, led by Emtiyaz Khan. Before that I was a Ph.D. student at the Laboratory for Computational and Statistical Learning, a joint lab between the Italian Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, while attending the Ph.D. school of the University of Genoa in Italy.
My research focuses on structured prediction, i.e. learning functions with output spaces that have a inherent complex structure that differs from traditional linear spaces. The main applicative domain of my works is robotics, which naturally offers many scenarios where understanding and leveraging the structure of the problem is fundamental in developing new insights and computational solutions.
